3D Color Projectors
Light Blue Optics Ltd., (LBO) company, working in the field of color projectors for mobile devices, has declared the purchasing of license from Cambridge Enterprise (the Cambridge University department, which is engaged in inventions selling) for producing full-color holographic laser projectors.

3D Blockbuster Movies
The highlighted technology was invented by Edward Buckley, the LBO technological director, and Adrian Cable in 2003, when they still worked in Cambridge University. Earlier the University was intended to sell this license to Japanese microelectronics producer Alps Electric Co. Ltd.
The company is clearly producing 3D technology that will attempt to leap the existing 3D technology being created. A holographic projector and a 3D television may very have a fine line of difference.
LBO company, founded in 2004, is well known with its advanced optical-mechanical products, first of all with mini-projectors for cell phones and color projectors, allowing to form the image of high quality on any surface.

CES Showcases 3D Technology
The exhibits of January CES 2009 has shown us the whole picture of new generation of video technology developed by leading world companies, working in the sphere of home equipment and computers. I mean real 3D video.
The NVIDIA company has shown the GeForce 3D Vision Kit, allowing playing realistic 3D games and watching 3D movies on the ordinary display, with the help of special glasses. This system is already becoming popular among gamers. And now have no competitors.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This looks frickin’ amazing. If the 3D technology matches up to the hype they’ve created, we’ll start seeing console games switching to 3D along with the desktop gaming market.

3D Soccer and 3D Futbol – You Pick
French soccer fans will be able to watch some matches of the next season in great 3D-HD quality.

The British technological magazine TVB Europe informs, that the biggest European operator company Orange, offering broadband services, is going to deliver 3D HD video to its subscribers. Philippe Delbary announced the company will need 6-12 months of experimental period to develop the final technique.
Nevertheless, Philippe Delbary, commented that by 2011 the 3D HD television can likely conquer the market, being assisted by growing the number of 3D movies, made in Hollywood.
The BBC TV company has already experimented with 3D format during live broadcast of sport events.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Well, we haven’t really seen that many 3D movies in Hollywood yet. Not sure I’m buying his confidence. It will happen but he makes it sound like it will blossom this Saturday.

Is Holocube The Holy Grail of 3D?
CNN has recently tried to boast their 3D reporter image (I’m sure you saw it), but today’s novelty may be eclipsed by this 3D technology. The European company Holocube has created a cube able to display separate objects in 3D.

Holocube 3D Projection Box is supplied with built-in hard disk drive (HDD) for video files storing, which are used to create 3D holograms with resolution of 1080i. the new gadget is represented in 3 models – 10-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch. The HDD capacity is 40 gigabytes. The prize of Holocube is about $9000. The devise can store up to 18 hours of video. It includes USB and support.
One word. Phenom. Just maybe, possibly not buying it again…seems too good to be true.
